Possible.. Rajamouli is known for his mind-blowing stories and thoughts.. Yes, she was in sword fighting training, and physical training too (Have you seen the short video where she is doing pushups beside Prabhas?)

With regards to her sword fighting, there are 3 possible options:

1) We will be seeing her sword fighting sequence before marriage. It could possibly be against Baahu.. or Baahu sees her.. something along that line..

2) Mahendra is born, Baahu goes off to war (maybe on Bhalla's side or against Bhalla) and Deva takes charge of things at home to protect her son.. till the time, she gets captured. Sivagami saves the baby after this point.

3) Sword fighting sequence comes later (when Shivudu is against Bhalla) - seems the least likely option, considering she spent 25 years or so in the burning sun.

From what we have seen of previews I'm putting my share on the first two, she will have her skills before marriage and will continue to use them to protect her family.

but my doubt is, being a warrior queen, how she stayed captured all this time? And how she got caught in first place.. The fierceness of Devasena and this don't match..

You can say the same with Sivagami too, but she was stabbed from behind.. so it was unfair.. and this is not the case with Devasena so far..

Let SSR have a good reason for this

Well, from what we saw, she didn't stay captured because she couldn't escape. It was more like she wanted to prove a point to Bhalla. I am sure Kattappa had the opportunity to help her escape before this and she could've but she probably denied it. She was waiting for her son to come back to Magishmathi. She didn't want to escape from Bhalla like a coward but she wanted to take her revenge against him first. This also shows her fierceness because staying out like that for so many years would've made anyone weak and any normal queen would've accepted Kattappa's help. But she didn't.. I guess we will probably see a scene in flashback regarding this (maybe Bhalla called Baahu coward or traitor or something and she wants to prove it wrong because that would be the real defeat..)
