I feel that industry kids have no idea that a world exists outside Bollywood. That's why they find living up to their parents' success as the biggest hurdle life can offer. Sunil Shetty was never a 'star' but he made his mark in the industry and Athiya feels she needs to at least come close to that.

For the actual 'starkids', I feel it's genuinely tough. They don't have the shorter end of the stick in terms of entering the industry and getting films but the constant comparisons to the parents at every stage of the career can really take a toll. Even those who are otherwise decent have to live in the shadow for not being as big (eg Abhishek).

Having said that, it's definitely much worse for the outsiders who rarely get even one fair chance, let alone multiple to reinvent themselves after failure. So industry kids whining about their struggles is something I actually find more insensitive than annoying. And it makes them seem too delicate for a demanding profession.

How many years did nawaz struggle btw ?

... i actually liked the look of her but i refuse to support such idiots ... just like poor little AB junior who is crying that producers dont pick up his phone after 10 years of giving flop after flop despite working with top banners and actors

As much as we make fun of TV actors, i remember reading some of their interviews on how they auditioned for years, stayed with 10 ppl in a chawl and didn't even enough money for decent full meals and then you compare them to these idiots who with their louis vuitton chappals complain how hard the world is

I dont even have pity for their comparisons to their successful parents.

If you've got something to you, and if you've got balls, you CAN excel as a star kid.

This is pretty much the only reason I like the likes of Kareena and Alia- they may be annoying in other terms, but they had balls to get out there in the industry. They did some challenging work to prove their mettle

And if acting isn't your thing, then don't freaking do it lool. Ekta Kapoor is a famous man's daughter but she isn't an actress- so what, she's a freaking head honcho of a television show production company, and now produces films.

Only if these star kids were made to do the routine the usual movie hopefuls do every day in n day out in Mumbai...won't be able to survive even for a day...anyways, she has flop written all over her so it doesn't matter really

The truth is that if it werent for mediocre star kids swarming the film industry, Bollywood would hv had top notch newbies. Even Varun, Alia the star kids who deserve their success, would hv had really stiff competition from more newcomers in the mold of Kangana, Vidya Balan, killer looking newbies. The best of the best. I think nowadays most aspiring youngsters just look at the godfathers like Kjo and star kids and give up even trying for a film.
