Why would a woman marry 2, 3, or 4 men when the one she is currently married with is suppose to take all her responsibility? By all means, if she wants to get divorced, no force is stopping her.

If a man divorces a woman, he is not allowed to get married until she gets happily married to someone else.

A man is limited because, in Islam, he can not marry a woman who is already married. So if you have a community of 100 women, 99 are married, you only got one to choose from, but a woman can be in a community with 100 men and all of them could be married and she could still choose from all of these men except those that already have 4 wives, and she has the advantage of knowing how he treats the other wives and she is assured by the Quran that she will receive the same good treatment

So the benefit is for the lady, not for the man, because every time a man takes a wife he takes on obligation, responsibility and he is ordered in the Quran, chapter 4, verse 34, that the men are the protectors, and providers, and maintainers of the women. Men have that responsibility but women don't have to pay a dime from their money to support the household. If she is a millionaire and he is the garbage man, he still has to spend all from his to take care of her.

From my understanding, this was implied considering the over population of women vs men. Today, this doesn't happen very often, marrying 4 and stuff. It is permitted but people don't practice is as their right. It falls under circumstances that may arise. A man is not suppose to disrespect his wives in any way.

Personally to me, it is disrespecting for a man to have 2 wives at the same time, and not like it happens today, if it was me in question, I would never accept to live such way. But looking at why this was implied, it's not something so harsh. Either way, the woman is given the higher stand.

@MSK: Sure, what you say sounds logical, but only from a patriarchal view. If Quran is indeed word of God, I highly doubt God will be so biased towards a gender. And even if your argument was valid back in the time, it ain't so valid now given women are just as capable of providing to multiple men. And if the argument ain't so valid in today's world, it goes to say 1) God isn't foresighted to see the future or 2) It ain't really word of God, but more or less the manifestation of the world when men used to be the powerful and mighty.

Again, this is what my logic states. #MyPOV.

I just had to comment, i really didn't get y someone(more) has to comment on Islam when the discussion was about saifs comments. TONS of things can be said abt hinduism, but I will not go into this because other "religious" ppl enjoy insulting islam as a religion, while in Islam u are forbidden to insult any other religion. And even act more politely to a person who is being mean to you. But insulting Islam clearly tells about wht sort of ppl u guys are.

Religion no matter which is man made. I wish people would let go of that already. Especially Indians. As an Indian, I feel all religion does is hold us back collectively and makes us fight when there is no need for it. Personally I couldn't care less about what you call ''your'' God, or which path you want to take as long as you don't try to push it down everyone's throat and don't look down upon other paths.

So true, Saif's rants were the sole reason I went to see the movie and I am not even a fan of Saif's 😆
His rants just awakened my curiosity, and I am sure many others share my feelings when I say that Saif created buzz/made people curious enough to check this film out.

I think the vast majority is tired of KAtrina's salad stories and name dropping.
All she spoke about was Ranbir/Salman/Me/Salman/Me/Ranbir/Kareena/Deepika/Ranveer/MeMyselfandI anyways🤢

by the way I spent alot of time in pakistan and have not seen a SINGLE man in my entire family, friends etc who had more then one wife...
