Why do we even need such titles?

Why not have a normal film and put hero of any background in it?

One can have a turbaned Sikh character as hero without having such titles on Sardar, Singh etc!

I don't like communal emphasis.

I think it's an attempt to appeal to a particular demographic. Don't we have Punjabi songs like jatt kharku khada, Jatt chakange gandaase, etc.

They're trying the same thing here.

If you mean my criticism of Pakistan, then I can only say religion and nation are two different things and I don't care enough to comment on organised religion. It's mildly amusing how you mixed up religion and nation immediately.

But yeah, I hear Sikhs protesting things every other day and it's effin annoying. I comment on whatever I find annoying. As simple as that.

Do you get the media bias here though? In India whether for right or wrong reasons religious groups or those who consider themselves the reps of certain religions (common film sometimes do not agree with their representation btw) have always protested agaisnst one or the other movies.

And media gives it a colour of being intolerant and freedom of speech. But Christian groups have been quietly getting their way especially under the ex Censor Board Chief Leela Samson and nobody batted an eyelid.

I found out only through twitter.

At this rate, Christains are pretty soon going to be the protected penguins of India with a sole right to be offended. All others are just plain intolerant according to Indian media.

Yes the bias is clear.

Christians get away with anything and even get special apologies issued to them.

Others are all called fanatics and intolerant if they protest.

Buzzfeed recently did a whole piece on Sikh protestor. Hindus and Muslims are bashed all the time as well if they protest something.

I have never seen such pieces or trends on Christians who protest when their faith or community are presented in what they construe as wrong or disrespectful.

I think people should be consistent. Either take everyone's concern into account or call everyone intolerant fanatic. Whydifferent strokes for different folks?
