Now I am curious. What defines a 'superstar'? Because if Ranbir isn't the superstar of his generation then I feel that there hasn't been a superstar since HR anyway. Then what is this debate around which starkid deserved superstardom?

Time has a significant role to play as well.

If Ranbir lasts as long as Hrithik and still popular. 40's.

Yes Ranbir will be called a superstar as well.

We will have to wait and see.

Thank you for letting us know you lot lack the brain. Now it makes sense why you guys didn't understand a simple fact that opinions are subjective.

Chalo Lage raho bashing all who don't carry the same opinion. Can't expect more anyways given the hay matter.

Oh okay. Then we can't judge the post-2007 generation anyway. Ranbir has had a couple of off years just like HR did. I guess what is of great significance is whether he'll be able to bounce back. My gut-feeling says that he will.

Despite my argument that Ranbir is a superstar, I know he doesn't come close to HR's league even if I equate where he is now to where HR was in 2008 (i.e. 8 years into their career). And he probably never will. But I do feel that he deserves the success he gets in the industry whether as a star or a superstar.

I disagree that he is purely media-made. He has critical and commercial successes to his credit. He has been a disappointment post-YJHD though.

Wasn't Aamir a huge star in the 90s? Not compared to SRK and Salman but just in general. I actually wouldn't know, I started watching Aamir mostly as a teenager but I hear stories of him being famous thanks to QSQT, Dil, RH, etc.

I agree with Ajay and Akshay. They both bounced after 2000.
