Rumours had it that the Heropanti star had been signed on to star in the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed film, which was earlier offered to other prominent actresses in the industry.
"Even I read about me doing Sultan in newspapers. I don't really know where it comes from and who gets to know all this. They don't even confirm or check before they write. I would love to do it but I have not been approached so far," Kriti told PTI.
The 25-year-old actress will be next seen in Rohit Shetty's upcoming film Dilwale, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Varun Dhawan.
When asked why it took her a while to sign her second Bollywood project, Kriti said, "I always knew that it takes time for your second film to happen. I didn't want to sign anything in hurry. In most of the actor's career there has always been a little gap between first and the second film."
Though Kriti took her time to sign her second Bollywood film, she did shoot for Telugu film Dochay during the gap.
"Professionally, I was not sitting at home. So, I was not cribbing. It all worked out really well. I think it was more important for me to wait and sign the right project because after your debut film, you need to sign a film which is one notch higher at least.. You need to be careful with the script. You sometimes tend to chose whatever comes your way. I didn't want to do that."
