I really doubt that it'll be a romantic film between SRK and Alia. Don't think Gauri will opt for that - that'll create CHAOS. Unless the script really demands it, but then again, Bollywood and the audience trashed and rejected Nishabd - so this can't be happening again.

We might be surprised and see SRK playing Alia's Dad.

The funny thing is... I love all 3 of them - SRK, Alia and Gauri, so this should be huge. At the same time, I'm scared for Alia. People are mocking and bashing her already thanks to Karan. He's shoving her in ALL of Dharma's films. It's getting irritating. I wish Alia could take more risks and BE on her own. Karan's obsession with her is scary. It's as if he's trying to finish Deepika and make all the other actresses go out of work.

Gauri Shinde to direct Alia Bhatt in Karan Johar film

Gauri Shinde, who made a splash with her debut film English Vinglish, hasn't signed a single film after that. But she has made an exception for Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Word is that Alia Bhatt will play the female lead in the film.

Says a source, "Karan asked Gauri if she has an actress in mind and they both agreed on Alia. KJo is instrumental in making career choices for Alia ever since the two worked on Student Of The Year. There will be three newcomers opposite Alia in the film as is the nature of the script, but they are yet to finalise the names." The film will go on the floors next year.

Oh C'mon...this cannot be a romance story...you may call SRK anything but I'm pretty sure even he'd have as much sense to not go for this if it was your typical run of the mill romance story...and if not SRK, have trust in Gauri. I have a feeling this film will be a good surprise :)

LMAO did someone really just disregard Gauri's credibility as a director saying she doesn't have 3-4 quality films but just 1 instead? Ah c'mon...she's talented...it could be seen in EV. If I am not wrong, didn't RK Hirani also just have the Munnabhai franchise to his credit as a director before 3 Idiots? It's not like he had a plethora of quality films before 3I but his talent showed even in Munabhai. Let's not disregard Gauri just because of this news...that's plain ridiculous.

I like her but c'mon...every other film seems to be going to her...
