People go for aamir's move only if its good. Dhoom 3 was an exception. It was a franchise. Tallash and Dhobi Ghaat are great example. Jai Ho being so utter garbage people still went to see it.

Only SRK and Salman has a massive hardcore fan following.

One D3 is all it took for Aamir 'fans' to turn against him. Can you imagine SRK or Salman getting trashed for doing it? Their films run on their starpower, Aamir's films run because people 'trust' him to deliver a good film. I can't spell it out more bluntly than this.

I don't think so. I think his fans are dispersed among many different age groups not all of which care to be vocal online or line up outside his house. I think it's just simple demographics.

Beyond that he also has respect among all audiences for the quality of films he delivers. People will go watch his films because they feel they'll get quality entertainment and not because they want to watch Aamir Khan on screen.

He seems like a quality snob (is that a term?) so I suspect that he's perfectly happy with how things have shaped up for him.

He makes better movies, that's why he breaks records. SRK and Salman have more craze and hype about them, purely just for how they are. People go to see them regardless of how the film looks.

I don't think Aamir would be able to make bad movies work like SRK and Salman can (not that that's anything to be proud of)
