Akshay says Hollywood is a threat to BW. Agree?

How is remaking a hollywood movie in hindi helping with the threat ?😕

I don't really agree though. He says that HW is threatened by BW and it may one day disappear, because HW's budgets are so much greater. But same can be said for regional films whose budgets are relatively smaller compared to the BW counterparts (except a few like Baahubali, Robot), However, they happily co-exist. So I dont see how HW is a big threat!

It is and not becuase of budget but becuase HW makes quality cinema and BW, well the less said the better.

This year F7, Avengers and JP all have done 100 crore at the BO. MI has taken a very good start as well. Fury Road did well too. That about as much 100 crore movies as we have from BW so far.


Last year there were only three truly exceptional movies that I saw compared to dozens from HW; and its a shame for an industry that has a new movie out every week. Those were PK, Haider and Ugly.

HW's reign everywhere in the world is inevitable. As we go ahead in time the world becomes smaller and Human civilization is becoming a global village. English is being understood and spoken more and more frequently. This will only increase with time.

So if given a choice who would in their sane minds, prefer a Dhoom, BB, Don etc over MI, Bond or a Mad Max movie. Or a radom superhero movie done wirh lame effects over JW, Avengers or BvS:DOJ. Then there is cinema such as Whiplash, Birdman, Boyhood, The Imitation Game as well. How can you compete with that??

The recent boom of HW in China is a perfect illustration of what I am trying to say above.

I remember when Dhoom 2 released in Telugu years ago, the collections were so high that they eclipsed collections of major Telugu superstars. They also had called Bollywood a threat back then. But it was just temporary.

we can say from this year yes because in hollywood people saw new and fresh stories but in bollywood the quality is shit speicially this year
