Why didn't Kites work ultimately at the BO? It had a good opening...was it the lack of acceptance of the lead actress? Or a crappy plot? Bad music?

Crappy plot

I remember it being sooo hyped up, to Titanic level romance and obviously it was not to that level or any.

Barbara n Hrithik chemistry & music was the best part

but lack of character development, their love story was not that epic, it looked more like lust than love tbh

n I'm still bitter since I payed to watch that in theater(that n Tees Maar Khan, after this I stopped going to first day shows)

Because it was a terrible movie! The worst HR ever made, tbh. This movie made me snap out of my phase of going to films just because my favourite is starring in them. Maybe because I had never been so disappointed in a product before.

Coz everything abt it was bad. I blame RR.. how the hell he thought the script will work a director like Anurag Basu and that too a so-called cross-over film?

I think opened well overseas but didnt sustain. And for India, it had flop written all over it, Too many English/spanish dialogs, No INDIANness in the film and yet the run away couple die for each other.. one after another. 😆 Dadhiwala Hrithik ki sari acting gayi pani me. 😆

Fire is the only thing i watched many times after watching the movie once and surviving it.

It deserved to be flop, and glad it did. It shud be renamed.. Kati patang. 😛
