The movie is so much more than just constipation.
Did you hear when Bhaskor talked about Marriage? Daughter's Marriage? How he told 'his daughter is not virgin' to a prospective guy interested in his daughter?
Beautiful movie depicting old age Father & working- Managing house Daughter. Father is open minded. He thinks Marriage without purpose is Low IQ. How true? Marriage is not about kids & husband. He believed a girl should not lose her identity to get married. Such bold views in a culture where Marriage is the ultimate goal of a girl's life.
At the end the beautiful dialogue by Piku when Rana asked her 'ab kya karogi?'
Piku replies 'Baba ne itna to prepare kiya hai. Manage kar lungi?' so wonderful. It's like.. Bhaskor already had prepared her enough to face the struggles of life. Parents are not for pampering only. Preparing your child to face the reality is also one of the aspect of being there for your kids even when you are not. Your values.. your strength with them.
Though the first message everyone gets is - to take care of your parents in old age. But for me.. above 2 messages were so strong & stood best. đ Another thing was.. the beautiful backdrop of Bengali family & culture.
