Sunny has some memorable films under his sleeve and not all of them were ones where he played a sardar. He used to be a treat to watch. Dhaai kilo ka haath boss 😎

Fortunately i have only had the torture of watching this ass of an actor in darr, where needless to say he was the weakest link

Ohkay.. I haven't come across a single person who said he hates sunny deol because of he has done this and that role..Its just assumption of the people here..

What's his playing Sardar roles got to do with being hated?

It's obvious that this topic was made because Sunny has done patriotic films which Pakistanis consider as "Pak bashing". They had misgivings with films like Border, Gadar, Indian, Maa Tujhe Salaam etc. Obviously they won't like dialogues like "Doodh mangoge toh kheer denge, Kashmir mangoge toh cheer denge!"

Sunny Deol is a 2 two time National Award winning actor and has good stuff like Arjun, Damini, Border etc to his credit.

He is jaded and stereotyped now. His Sardar role in Border is based on real life war hero from Indian army. Nothing to be hated except by some other country maybe. They can butthurt all the more they want in case they can't tolerate such films. Nobody gives a damn.

Indians couldnt tolerate dastaan which incidentally showed good and bad in both the countries and decided to do voice overs and stuff to change it according to thier perspective.. they why cant pakistanis be "butthurt" if a certain indian movie is out on out anti pakistani or shows their country in a bad light.. they have full right to be offended just as indians do if something is against their country

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan got his fame in India. Abhijeet may be jealous due to a Pakistani getting name and fame in India. Plus he is a Bengali. Bengalis generally have more hatred for Pakistan.

I don't even think Gadar was anti-Pakistan, per say. The hero does say 'Pakistan zindabaad'. He loves a Pakistani girl and even agrees to stay in Pakistan.

OT there was an article sometime back, Sunny, AB jr and Salman's films were the most rented In Pakistan. So I doubt he's hated because of a couple films out of the 80 he's done.
