Bajrangi Bhaijaan box office update: Salman Khan's film witnesses phenomenal opening, records will be shattered, suggest trade pandits!

Trade sources also state that the occupancy across India has been between 80-90 per cent and 100 per cent in key areas (till 2:00 pm), even though it is Eid today!

Bajrangi Bhaijaan, starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Harshaali Malhotra and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has opened phenomenally across India. Though some people a majority of Salman's fan have not been able to go watch the movie on the first day first show due to Ramzan, the film has opened at an occupancy of 80-90 per cent across India and 100 per cent in key cities (according to our trade sources). The film has received a great response from all over the country and everyone is enjoying the film, some even said that it was Salman's best performance till date. The critics have also given a good review to the film (the film has recieved 4 stars from most of the critics) and it is being said that the film will go on shatter box office records.

Exhibitor & Distributer Akshaye Rathi mentions to us, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan has had an amazing opening. It has hit the screens like a hurricane and has been received great reviews from all the people watching it. Despite Ramzan, the film has had an occupancy of more than 90 per cent in both Multiplexes and single screen cinema, which is absolutely fabulous. Tomorrow once Ramzan gets over, I feel a Tsunami of people will go to watch the film and there will be queues outside all the cinemas. So, lots of box office records may be shattered. If not the biggest opener overall, it will be among the biggest Bollywood openers for sure."

It is important to note, the highest grossing film of last year, PK had an opening occupancy of 80-90 per cent too (Source : Business Standard), so it may give PK a run for its money. As Rajender Singh Jyala, VP of Programming and Distribution at Inox (India) suggests, "The film has opened very well and is running very well at multiplexes. It has an average occupancy of 80-90 per cent across India, while it is 100 per cent in key areas. I believe the film has a very good chance to shatter all the box office records."

Manoj Desai of G7 cinemas also adds, "The film has opened very well. Even though it is Eid and many people can't watch the film, it has had an average occupancy of 90 per cent in my single screen theatres. Tomorrow will be the judgement day as people will flock to theatres as soon as Eid gets over. It is going to be a big HIT!"

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh also tweeted: "And #BajrangiBhaijaan ROARS from morning shows onwards. Packed houses/House Full boards greet the new Salman starrer. Trade jubilant!" Even Trade Analyst Komal Nahata expressed that he is surprised (though a series of tweets) about how well the film is doing even though it is Ramzan today: "Waiting for Eid ka chand? But Eid has already arrived at the b.o. #BajrangiBhaijaan takes a fantabulous opening all over.Unprecedented rush." tweeted Nahata. He further added, "#BajrangiBhaijaan at Rajhans, Ahmedabad: All morning shows (8 a.m., 8.20 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m.) house-full, Ramzan not withstanding. History!" "It's #BajrangiBhaijaan mania everywhere. Crowds going berserk. Scene outside Raj Mandir and Cinepolis cinemas in Jaipur is crazy." "Just thinking... If Ramzan ke din ko yeh haal hai

We believe with Ramzan ending tomorrow and an amazing word of mouth review for the film, people will flock to theatres and multiplexes to see the film and the already 90 per cent average occupancy will be 100 per cent with many people waiting in long queues to get tickets.
