Because they wanted a fresh face. The only thing fresh about Katrina is her freshly filled lips and cheeks 👎🏼

Because katrina kaif doesnt go begging to her directors to please cast her in a film no matter what and then turn the film into a disaster.

It makes sense katrina of namastey india part one would not be same as katrina namastey india part two...there are more than half a dozen years in between. Of course the requirements are different.

Her acting chops didnt prevent her from being cast in namastey india one, she simply fitted the bill, how difficult is that to comprehend.

As for acting chops, ahahahaha, akshay kumar isnt exactly raj kumar rao or nawazuddin in that regard, eh?
