If you think about it, in a way it is actually much harder to please single screen audiences than multiplex audience. If tomorrow a masala movie gets good reviews, the urban/a centre audience will definitely go and watch the movie. However masses will never ever go and watch films like lootera/udaan no matter how much these are praised critically.

Dil Dhahakne Do Heads For Second Highest Opening Day Of 2015

Dil Dhadakne Do is heading for the second biggest opening day of the year after Gabbar Is Back which grossed around 12.50 crore nett. The collections should come in at the 10 crore nett range or maybe little more if Mumbai circuit comes in higher than present expectations.

The number is decent for a film which is very urban and has little face value in terms of stars for most of the country. It is basically the metro multiplexes that have taken the film to this mark. The multiplexes have seen the best day one collections this year but the performance in mass markets is dull with the film collecting less than films like Roy and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

The opening day gives the film a good chance but only if the 30% or thereabouts jump comes on Saturday. The big city audience comes out in force on Saturday and that is the target audience so the film must show good growth.

The limited penetration of multiplex film in single screen is shocking😲! I mean not a single single screen runs them...

The 8 crs collections is not bad at all! but if it doesn't go up tomorrow, that will spell disaster for the movie.

My calculative expectation was that since ZNMD did 7-8 crs, this should go to 10 crs+.

Most of the reviews are positive in fact, don't know what works and what doesn't work these days..it's very difficult to know...except one thing - Khans work 😆.

I am still hopeful. By Monday morning, we will know for sure where the movie is heading

BOI reported 10 , so reviews did help in late night shows . ZNMD had a popular music in comparison to this so that was always going to work against it.

Finally saw the movie 😳

My review for DDD

First of all so annoyed they made cuts in the version I saw! The whole song 'Phir Bhi yeh zindagi' cut out. The scene where Kabir says to Ayesha 'Maine kahaan tha Sunny se shaadi kar lo' cut out.

I was so excited to see the film! This film had so much potential to become the best but sadly it just fell short. Tbh I felt the way they were portraying the film to be a brother sister relationship movie it wasn't. I mean there weren't much RS PC bonding scenes. RS PC were great as siblings though somebody should do a full fledged bro sis movie with them.

The movie I felt was centred more around RS he was in almost every scene. IMO PC was almost a supporting character like she had even lesser dialogues than noori lol Ayesha had so much scope as a character but it wasn't explored. Though PC did a great job as always even though her character wasn't up to the mark. She didn't have dialogues but her body language, eyes, expressions said it all. You feel her pain but since Ayesha doesn't do anything for it you just eventually get over it and don't feel bad for her anymore.

Ranveer's character was so much fun. First of all he looked so hot! I loved his & Shefali's scenes together the most. His expressions were the bestest ever lmao the faces he kept making while his parents talked, scolded etc was awesome, and so relatable! He was the best in scenes where he fought with his parents and just lay it on the table - Kabir was the only likeable factor throughout the film.

Anil Kapoor was the best though> he made me laugh, and made it just so much fun! He's got such awesome dialogue delivery I just loved him. Shefali emotes so well! You really feel for her.

No offence to any fans but what the hell has happened to the way Anusha speaks after this lip job. Like her dialogue delivery sucked big time I literally cringed through her parts. No doubt she is a decent actress but the dialogue delivery :|

Farhan & PC had so much potential damn I wished we had more of them!

Basically in the end , everything was left half ways, the climax was rushed & shoddy! & Yes I wanted to see more like the others said but not cause it was that good but because it all looked so incomplete.

PS1 : VIKRAAANT MASSEY IS SO CUTEEE he should totally do a movie as a lead <3

PS2: SPOILER
I went to see for that brother sister bond thing and one scene I really liked was when Manav tries to misbehave with Ayesha and Kabir is like oye hadd main re and glares at him > AAAH DAMN that was what I went & sadly only some of 'that' was there :(

Just came back from the movie.
In a long time there is a movie which tells a story. The direction and storyline is superb. What i really liked is that the movie stuck to the plot.It was a movie about this dysfunctional family and it remained that.It did not go on to become a love story between Priyanka-Farhan or Anushka-Ranveer.Even their love angles served a part in getting the family closer.Every character was there for a reason and zoya akhtar did not go over board with it.
Priyanka and Ranveer had great chemistry. They actually looked like siblings.Yes i do wish they had more sibling scenes but whatever scenes they had projected their bond as siblings really well.Ranveer definetly has the best dialogues and he nailed it with his expressions.
I do wish that Farhan akhtar had more scenes but as i said the movie was about the family and so it was justified. The ending could have been better.Maybe not so rushed.Thats the only part where in a little disappointed.

Now those who expect it to be another ZNMD will be disappointed. The two are very different movies, they have very different plots and storyline, less funny moments but if you do not compare the two movies you will see what a gem dil dhadakne do is.I really hope it does very well at the BO.

I saw it this morning, 1st show! OMG!!!!
I loved it and laughed so hard. Anil Kapoor and Ranveer Singh have the best chemistry. Shefali and PC balance it out with their tear-jerker moments and subtle emotional parts.

My favorite part is the confrontation Ranveer has with the parents post Anil being in the hospital. It's high on emotions and so funny! And then the climax where Ayesha finally gets her due. OMG! Reema and Zoya did such an amazing job, even with the ending and the final message of the film via Pluto aka Aamir.

I think Farhan had very little to do, but his confrontation scene was effin' hot and PC and Farhan need to do a full fledge film together. There could be a movie just on them like a pre-quel to this or something. I don't know but I wanted more.

Anushka was the weakest link of the movie. Even the supporting characters were better. She plays a dancer yet PC danced better than her. 😆 Her scenes ith Kabir were good, but somehow I felt Ayesha and Kabir as siblings had better tuning and chemistry and scenes in general.

Rahul Bose is a great actor--so underutilizied.

I wish the movie went on forever honestly. The story-telling never got boring despite the lame songs b/c the 4 main characters were so well-developed. I loved the scene where Shefali's Neelu is binge eating cake or when she tells her hubby to stop flirting--there's this one moment where she is about to break and start crying but holds it all in...OMG! That moment gave me shivers. Shefali is such a good actress.

I think I fell in love with Kabir the most. Ranveer was born to play this role. Part of me is so happy the casting worked out like this b/c Ranveer stole the show. He's a comedic genius and his chemistry works so well with all the characters.

Side characters--every single one so perfectly and well-written. This is by far Zoya's best. Even better than ZNMD.
