Shahrukh is the better actor definitely... Aamir has never risen above the script like how SRK has. The only exception being Rang De Basanti and PK.

SRK was better than Aamir as an actor till he got into Rahul-Raj routine.

YRF still somewhat challenged him with CDI. Dharma just kept milking same image till MNIK.

SRK was superb in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Baazigar, Darr, Anjaam, Raju ban gaya gentleman. At that time Aamir was mostly doing lover boy roles post QSQT.

But after that things reversed. Aamir broke out of image and tried different roles, doing good work in AAA, Earth, Rangeela, Sarfarosh, Lagaan etc. While SRK got stuck in image. Dil Se is the only good act in late 90s from SRK according to me.

After that only CDI and Swades have shown SRK, THE actor.

That said, Aamir has also often been laboured, predictable and tried too hard. I like only TZP and Talaash among his post DCH work, in terms of acting. He's had his patchy moments in films, despite their acclaim.

They have had their phases. SRK though, has none to blame except himself and the banners he stuck to, if he is not considered at par in acting.

Genre wise, Aamir is better in comedy and serious roles (this is why he pulls off action despite not having the face or body type for it). SRK is better in negative roles and romance.

One thing is common to both. They use their eyes very well. Their faces and physique are ordinary. IMO only their eyes and how they express through them, are striking. Their eyes can speak!

Rangeela is my all time fav of Aamir films. the antics and tapori ness never looked so cute .

how i wish he would never age , but yet if he delivers something like RDB or DCH, its again a happy thing for me.

i think from all his films, Rangeela, dil, RDB and DCH will be my pick, even though i feel Akshaye khanna stole the show in DCH just how he did that in Race and over shadowed saif. ohh this man is so underrated too, i liked him in Taal , infact when i watched taal i felt like slapping anil kapoor for trying to snatch mansi from manav.😆

Amir...srk overacts too much, God his crying in khnh.Even his romance that so many seem to like immensely there he overacts too imo.For me any decent tv actor is better than him.
Really dislike amir offscreen but as an actor he is mast! Pk was so mediocre but he was too good.

SRK can pull off comedy too...if you take a look at any of his movies from the 90s, a lot of his characters have had a humorous side to them..and SRK pulled it off well. It's mindless comedy which I personally have a problem with probably because everything and everyone is usually over the top in such a case. So, I find SRK's comic timing generally underrated around here.

Dil pe patthar rakh kar kahena padh raha hai ki Aamir is better actor than SRK.

I have followed their films from the start.Aamir was a sensation when he made his debut.In the very next year of his debut he had done Raakh which is very underrated film.I think he has won a national award for it.but then he was part of flops while he was just stuck on playing the lover boy role.

After few years SRK made his debut.He had shown spark in the first few films like Anjaam,Baazigar,Darr,KHKN and finally DDLJ.Aamir's career revived with RH and then he delivered great performances with Rangeela,Earth and Sarfarosh while SRK was stuck playing the same Raj/Rahul.Aamir is versatile.

It is very harsh to say that good scripts make Aamir look better actor bcoz SRK too started his career with good scripts.

The actor should convince and connect the audience with the char which Aamir has done many times.

In PK and Mangal Pandey he has risen above the scripts.PK is Hirani's weak movie and MP was a bad film.

Aamir is good in period drama which SRK isn't.He is good in dialects be it Awadhi,Punjabi and Bhojpuri.SRK's dialect be it Rajasthani or Punjabi looks OTT.

SRK's period film like Asoka was criticized where critics said that SRK was playing himself.Some went on saying that Santosh Sivan had given a sword to Raj or Rahul instead of Asoka.

SRK too was a good actor with CDI,Swades,Darr,Bazigar and KHKN but I feel he is limited.

Right now SRK is not even an actor 🥱. And being his fan this annoys me that he is doing crap films.

for most part, aamir's performances are overshadowed by how the "script was actually great".. I duno but many of his movies on paper looked like a gamble, ..a movie on cricket and a period film, which have done exactly done very well before? but lagaan created history, because people connected to its characters..bhuvan and his army..RDB came after there were already 3 movies made on bhagat singh, with ajay's winning accolades..ofcoz it was different in styling and presentation, but just from judging the script POV, why would anyone agree to be part of another in essence version of movie on revolutionaries

ghulam and rangeela are other two gems..rangeela was more about mili..but he made his presence felt tremendously..ul still hear the taporis mouthing - AC idhar ghumana, or apun public hai public..

sarfarosh - ajay singh rathod's portrayal was so heartfelt and natural..no frills, no OTT action sequences or expressions, probably one of the best portrayals of a policeman in cinema

3Idiots - duno but for me, aamir's nuances and body language was perfect for a college kid..his scratching head and snarky expressions..

and lastly my personal fav - aakash mehra from DCH..this is probably the coolest and the most fun character from all the movies Ive watched sofar..and aamir was pitch perfect in bringing aakash's mad, quirky, flirt and emotional side out..

I couldnt forgive aamir for the horrible horrrible D3..that was a pathetic performance and he lost his edge of just being a natural there..but he more than made up with PK after it and talaash before it..

again how many have it in them to opt for talaash, a neo-noir, pyschological horror thriller, and tap into the relatively untapped genre..

Loved SRK to bits at one point, but the problem is that its not just bad projects, his acting skills have deteriorated over the course of years, he wasnt as good in JTHJ as he usually is in his romantic performances from past, he is failing in getting his comic timing right, like KHKN, DDLJ, DTPH days in CE and HNY, his don was him trying wayyy too hard..MNIK was okayish and left room for improvement..

hoping that the brilliance of portrayals in CDI and swades and even simplistic and heart touching performances like surinder sahni from Rab ne returns soon, all is not lost till then..

I guess both.. they have different styles.. different strengths.. but at the end of the day they are both fabulous actors!

Except SRK needs to stop doing the shit he has been doing in the recent past and start doing movies like the amazing stuff he used to do earlier!
I will mark Aamir ahead for picking good quality work.. But talent wise I love both of them almost equally!
