They both have sentimental approaches when doing serious scenes.

Sometimes it works well.

other times its too cliche

Aamir does comedy better. SRK does romance better. They are both hit and miss in dramatic scenes.

Why did you leave out Ranbir now?

Back to comparing Khans with each other?

On topic, SRK was more natural, versatile and better in early 90s. But Aamir was better from mid 90s.

Now one hams, other is too laboured, with only sporadic good performances in previous decade.

I'd pick Aamir finally, if I had to, only due to better command over language and voice modulation.

He has done many genres...

Romance

Drama

Comedy (CE)

Masala

Experimental Cinema(Swades)

Thrillers

and has done well in all of them...

Aamir has not done any thrillers, negative roles, although his films are great, he is always overshadowed ( 3 idiots-Sharman, Boman, PK- Boman, Anushka, Calash-Rani, Kareena)

Aamir, Aamir, Aamir!!!

SRK over does everything except for just a normal casual dialogue. That's why some of his scenes with Anushka in JTHJ were the best. Otherwise, he gets very cartoonish when doing comedy and he hams it up in dramatic scenes.

I feel like with Aamir I'm watching the character, whereas with SRK I'm watching SRK trying to act.

So you can't choose? I didn't get what you mean by sentimental approach. Could you explain? Aren't their acting styles diametrically opposite?
