Director Karan Johar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were about to team up for projects like Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Dostana in the past. But things didn't work out as expected. Now, the duo is finally uniting for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. Hence, the beauty queen Aishwarya is all excited to be a part of Karan's upcoming project.Things didn't seem to have worked in the past, but that they are coming together, we asked the actress what was so special about Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that made you give your nod to Karan after so many years, she said, "There are so many reasons. I would have said yes to Karan earlier too.
First of all, in the past, busy schedules never permitted. But this time, I had a schedule to start setting. I was unable to do Kuch Kuch Hota Hai because of dates. Yes, later he did come to me with Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, but then also his script went into changes and the character got changed. I know what was narrated and I know what we eventually saw. Of course, Kajol was fabulous in the film. Throughout the years he kept discussing about different ideas and subjects and then we thought of working on Dostana which too didn't click." "Karan and I have hoped to work together many times and the most beautiful part about coming together for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is that we are finally going to work together which we are looking forward to. The subject of the film also prompted me to say yes to it. When Karan narrated the idea to me I thought it's wonderful to tell a love story so differently and I think it's a lovely team up to work with. Ranbir has been a buddy. Anushka is really a wonderful energy to work with," Aishwarya further added. Speaking about her friendship with Karan, she said, "Karan is a dear friend over the years as well. Especially, since marriage we have grown even stronger. We spent a lot more time in the evenings. I never used to spend evenings with people of the industry before. I used to leave for my house after completing my work. Now, I am more a part of the film industry because I am married to a family associated with films."
