the collection for sure is not that good its aholiday and only 12-13 cr ??? avengers collect 11 cr with 1500 screen F&F 12.5 cr with much less tha screen and from this point i cant see the film will be ahit

Akshay Kumar's latest release Gabbar Is Back opened with a bang at the box office on Friday. The film is doing exceptionally well at the single screens.

Finally, the long lasting lull at the box office has ended this weekend with 'Gabbar Is Back'. The last few weeks have seen Hollywood releases like Furious 7 and Avengers: Age Of Ultron performing better than Bollywood releases. But Hindi films find their toehold again with Akshay Kumar's latest release.

The movie opened very well at single screens on Friday. The multiplexes had an average start in the morning, but the footfalls went up in the evening shows.

The first-day collection of the film stands at Rs. 13.05 crore net at the Indian box office, as per trade figures available.

Movie Review: 'Gabbar Is Back' is a treat for Akshay Kumar fans

The opening is better than Akshay Kumar's previous two releases. Baby had minted Rs. 9.3 crore on the opening day. Before that Entertainment had made Rs. 11.57 crore on the first day.

So with the good opening of 'Gabbar' one can safely say that Akshay Is Back.

Gabbar Is Back Has Reasonable Second Day

Gabbar Is Back has done reasonable business on its second day as collections look set to come in at around 11 crore nett. Its not optimum as collections similar to Friday would have indicated a good trend but its not too bad either..

The film does not look that big grosser that the industry needs but it may just survive if the mass and family crowd give it a strong Sunday. The film fetched a price for its Indian theatrical rights that was similar to the all India billing of Baby which was 38 crore and it does have a chance to go and do a share of 40 crore plus depending on what happens in the next few days.

The hope for the film is because North India has held similar collections to Friday and it was not a holiday in Delhi/UP or East Punjab. The drops have mainly come in sectors which had advantage of a holiday on Friday. If we take out the holiday factor there is limited drop if any from day one.

They need to make 76 cr. (from Indian theaters) to recover it. Don't think the movie would make more than 60 cr.
