Because Shanti mentioned her childhood trauma as part of the reasons for why she's attention seeking. And yesterday in her interview about nudity and nipples people also made comments and references to it. Her sexual abuse story was a brave admission in order to bring awareness to an incredibly serious and heinous thing. Her talk of nudity and nipples painting was her speaking as an uninhibited artist promoting her movie. Same with Aamir crying interview.

She's not going to be taken seriously if she gives interviews like the nipples one.

I didn't see anything wrong with it within the context it was mentioned. She's playing a bisexual character who has cerebral palsy and is trying to discover her sexuality. I don't think appeasing the conservative masses of Indian cinema was really a concern when she and everyone else involved with the movie decided to be part of this project. And considering all the accolades and even awards she and the movie have already received I would say she's already been taken seriously where it matters.

Her interview is in public.

And most of the public is not going to like that colour of nipples talk.

If you are talking about her target audience only then why are you crediting her for raising awareness on other issues she discussed previously? If you talk of awareness then it implies a hint towards general public.
And that general public will not take her seriously if she does that nipple talk. That's all.

What do you mean by "where it matters"? Film fraternity or critic circles? Or few people in online forum? Is it all that matters?

Kalki is a great actress..and off screen, she's likeable as well...she has a movie coming out that she wants people to see it..thats why all these interviews and statement of hers are coming out...when the movie releases, you won't hear from her until he next release.

It's just that Kalki doesn't have a word called PRIVACY in her dictionary.
