Lol no wonder they don't want the consumers to go against it then. This is not a capitalist economy that Airtel will decide what the consumers need to pay. TRAI is absolutely wrong to even think about one company before the general public. No other country supports this kind of treatment. What makes India so special that its citizen needs to bear such things ?

Is this happening only in India or are other countries doing the same?

Few weeks back I saw tumblr posting about net neutrality campaign in USA. Which worked. So other countries have tried but have not implemented any such rules for the benefit of the public. I hope India does the same.

First of all these companies charge exhorbitant rates for high speed data... its been so many years since 3g and high speed data came, but they still charge so much... and now on top of buying data we will also have to buy website usage separately...This is just ridiculous... If Voda and Airtel implements it, im just gonna switch to MTNL...no way MTNL will charge extra..

MTNL will charge extra if TRAI implements their new plan. It will be for ALL internet service providers. Everyone will take advantage of it.

There is no variation on 3g usage charges among then. All are increasing at the same rate. So forget option , all of them charging for 1gb data @ 255 or 250. They are only fighting with each other in marketing and promotion field where as in terms of pricing they are one unit.

eg :pricing structure of vodafone 3g which is exactly a copy of airtel.

Regarding TRAI why it allowing these companies for zero neutrality in first place. They are just trying to open the door slowly in baby step through airtel where in future all of them shrewdly implement it with full fledged through proper marketing and promotion. Which ultimately leads consumer to their trap after not having any other option.

@bold : Huge consipiracy combined with the tadka of lobbying. šŸ˜†

No other countries tried and failed also reason why Airtle want and Flipkart supporting it is because of win -win situation for them India is extremely price sensitive so any increase in prices and ppl will look for shortcut also even till date 3g hasnt accumulated properly in India forget 4g , Airtle has failed their by trying to provide 4g in selected devices even that was wrong actually
And when with 2g accumulation and Airtel coming up with such ideas that is why ppl are against as others will lose business
Facebook will not campaign because it has already attacked on net neutrality by tying up with Reliance communication with something called as Internet for All
Whatsapp and Facebook get benefit before as well , the hue and cry now is because particular website are tying up and which in turn is gonna effect commerce of rest

To implement all anti consumer policy india hi mila hai kya šŸ˜† that too with some fancy names like free airtel, internet for all . As if they are giving internet free of cost , even i thought airtel is providing some free internet. These telecom companies always come out with some ghotala plan , they will say its free cheapest blah blah but attached with loads of hidden charges. But in case of service hardly they are best , average download speed for 3g is 20 to 50 kbps speed but they pocket the maximum charges for 3g plan. They have already a 90 crore base of customer still need more profit.

When policy , even independent body like TRAI favoring industry lobby , no doubt in all this loot ultimately consumers always at receiving end.

Forget about having choice for consumer , because in initial phase they were in competition with each other for acquiring customer , now after 90 crore customer base it meet its saturation point . There is a high entry barrier for new entrant. So they will not compete with each other in terms of pricing just like the characteristic of oligopoly market structure..

Regarding BSNL-MTNL once these were considered as navratna having largest customer base. But with favorable policies for private players so also taking wrong strategy they allow them to drag towards loss making organisation. In fact they make it possible to shift of consumers from these companies to private players with deliberate wrong steps. May be in future they are in path of disinvestment . Even they did not participate in spectrum auction deliberately which indicate they are not even interested for increasing consumer base and giving good network.

Now a stage come , where we cant even decide how we will use internet and leave that choice to whim and fancy of these network providers. šŸ˜† Dont give us anything free , we need net neutrality.
