This topic needs more attention
As far as I understood Telecom Regulatory Association of India is coming up with a plan where Telecom services like Vodafone, Airtel, Docomo are now going to put restrictions on how many sites on internet we will be able to access.

Its will be like our Cable TV service where we pay for different kinds of packages and on basis of that we get to see the channels we paid while others are not accessible by us. Imagine a situation where u have to pay 50 to check FB another 40 for google and 30 for the IF and all other sites are blocked 🤔

TRAI has welcomed the consumers to give an opinion on the said matter by providing us on a document over 100 pages long to read and analyse and then write your answers. I think one will need PHD on the said topic to be able to do so.Theories are TRAI wants to implement the plan but this whole plan goes completely against net neutrality where one is supposed to have complete access of the internet without any restrictions.

Airtel zero is just another package plan they have introduced. What TRAI is planning is more like every telecom business providing u with various packages and limiting your internet usage as per how much u can afford.

Airtel is still providing us with normal packages as of now. If these rules are implemented by TRAI then things will change drastically.

Even now FB is apparently deleting messages and campaigns for the said cause. Looks like nobody wants people to know about it until the deadline arrives

This is all coz of Airtel. They cam up with charging extra for usage of Hwtasapp, Viber, Skype etc. Coz ppl do calls on them and they want that those VOIP calls shld be charged seprately. Telecom companies fears coz just as as Whatsapp replaced SMS these VOIP apps will replace phone calling in near future. Which is just pathetic decision by airtel.
It shld be perfectly our choice how do we use net. No telecom company shld dictate us abt this thing and charge separately for some apps.
There is huge outrage on this thing and ppl are gainst this and want net neutrality on all services.

Good ... at least people are being aware. Even current airtel tariff rates are pretty high. I cant imagine what will they do next. Last time when I was in india they were charging 250 for 1 gb 3g data net plan per month.

This is more than just Airtel. TRAI will implement the plan for everyone from Vodafone to Docomo to all other internet providers people use in this country. Everyone will end up giving us packages and a certain number of sites that we will be able to access with these packages. This is why we need to make people aware and sign the petition so that more like airtel zero don't come up and restrict our usage of the internet.
Deadline is 24th april.

This airtel eveytime uses monoply on ppl. Every recharge is extra high for airtel. When everybody are giving 1 GB 3G net for approx 135 to 190 airtel is offering 1GB 3G net for 255 per month.
Even itincreased uld 2G net from 199 to 255 per month.

Trai is asking ppl's opinion before doing anything. They are asking ppl to tell their views abt this and asking ppl to mail them.
