The source says, "You know they had changed the entire line up at the last minute. Originally, the show was suppose to begin with Farhan Akhtar's performance and then the players were to be introduced. However, all of that changed due to the delay. Moreover, the Teleprompter wasn't flashing the exact information, and hence it was getting even more confusing.

Saif Ali Khan, who comes out in support of the IPL organisers facing criticism from the viewers for the opening ceremony.
The much awaited opening ceremony of the Indian Premiere League 2015, as many would agree, was not a happy affair. The show didn't go down very well with the audiences. The actors who were a part of the event were also reportedly facing difficulties due to the last minutes changes in the flow of the show.
While many have been blaming the actors who had hosted and performed at the show, the social media users too haven't spared the participants. However, would it be right to blame only the stars for the entire goof up? The rains in Kolkata too played a spoilt sport. A reliable source who was present at the event informed us that many last minute changes at the do resulted to the confusion.
"However, when we contacted Saif, he came out in defence of the management. The actor says, "The show was nearly cancelled. It was raining, all the equipments were ruined and the whole flow went for a toss. I am actually amazed that we managed to put up the show that we did, given the technical difficulties. I don't want to make excuses as I am sure the channel and organisers all wanted the best for the audiences. But unfortunately, all the chaos was transmitted live; editing would have made it much better. The players looked great and I hope the matches coming up on the IPL will more than make up for the disappointments felt by television watchers. I am sure the channel, BCCI and the event organisers all feel the same way, you had to see the conditions to believe it. Good luck to all the teams.
"Shahid too expressed his thoughts on twitter. He wrote, "Banged the bike broke the stage. Felt the love. Amaze." Besides Shahid, Anushka Sharma, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar too had performed at the opening ceremony.
