Sidharth Malhotra and Ranbir Kapoor are Rohit Shetty's Ram-Lakhan

Mumbai: This film will take some time before it goes on floors, as those associated with this project are busy with their respective films. But Rohit Shetty's next after Dilwale, which is a remake of the iconic Ram Lakhan', will have Sidharth Malhotra and Ranbir Kapoor reprise the role of Ram and Lakhan. The iconic characters of Jackie and Anil will be portrayed Sid and RK and everything was finalized only recently.

According to a report in Absolute India, the makers were looking out for characters that would match up to the personality of the original characters. In the past, there have been lot of speculations about the casting of the film. Initial reports suggested that Ranveer and Arjun Kapoor might play these characters but now the casting is locked.

Ram Lakhan was produced and directed by showman Subhash Ghai with an ensemble star cast that included Anil, Jackie, Dimple, Madhuri, Raakhee, Amrish Puri, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher.

Composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, the music was a chartbuster and My Name is Lakhan' became an extension of Anil Kapoor's personality.

In the remake, Sidharth will reprise Jackie's role and Ranbir Kapoor will play Anil's role. Karan, Rohit and Subhash Ghai have joined hands for this film that will release in 2016.

Now that the two leading actors for Ram-Lakhan are locked, it will be interesting to see who will be cast in the role of Madhuri and Dimple Kapadia.

Horrible 🤢 I hope this is not true..From what angle does Sid look older than Ranbir? And Ranbir in a typical tapori role all over again? Disaster..He needs to stay away from KJo..Sick & tired of these RL rumors 😆

I want to see Sid and Ranbir in a film together but definitely not RL or any kind of remake. 😆

Lmao I doubt it, Ranbir said he won't do remakes and he doesn't even have the dates. KJo seems hellbent on Sid being in this one though.
