Lovely article..Looks like the author is quite unimaginative though cos she stopped at 7 which is such an insult to DP cos there are infinite reasons why she makes the world feel empowered <3 Her forgiving nature is the absolute best though..She agreed to act with a guy who cheated on her & go batshit crazy over him during promotions just so KJo makes loads of money from the film.She forgave TOI within a few months even after the gross disrespect meted out to her..Such a benevolent soul 😳 And in a world where people even forget the birthday of their loved ones, she remembered & wished the girl who literally wrecked her home even though she was not on twitter..Now if thats not lovely & heartwarming, what is? 👏

Deepika is daughter of a national icon. So much for being independent or powerful.

A self made woman is far more powerful than entitled daughters of famous dads. No one can dare to mess with Deepika thanks to her surname.

Speaking on an issue is no power. It is not like mental health was never taken up or not known at all till this lady spoke up.

Many others are good actors ot successful or wear relationships on their sleeves or take on media.

No big deal if Deepika also did it. Aishwarya, Rani, Preity, Katrina etc many have taken on media.

The last time any actress did something empowering was Preity Zinta IMO. She is a self made woman, she dared to testify in Bharat Shah case and even the police called her the only man in flm industry, she dared to speak out on abuse she suffered at hands of Ness Wadia also. Today, people think of posting pics of stained clothes as awareness on menstruation. It was Preity who had spoken for first time on PMS and menstruation in 2001. And she never timed her statements around release of films. She lost her dad at a young age but still made it and held her ground.
