After much speculation, the principal cast for the Ram Lakhan remake has been locked, say sources.

The project, directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar, has Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra signed on to play leading roles, confirm our reliable sources.

"Recently, it was announced that Fawad, Alia and Sid had been roped in by Karan for Shakun Batra's next " a multi-starrer titled Kapoor & Sons. However, KJo seems so impressed with the trio that he has decided to cast them together again," said a source.

"Alia and Sid are not paired together romantically. The young actress will reprise Madhuri Dixit's role while Sid will play Jackie Shroff. Fawad will play Anil Kapoor's role and will be wooing Alia in the film," our source reveals.

Kjo loves to announce and the think abt what he announced.

Fawad as lakhan wud be as interesting as BigB as gabbar in RGV film.

Ranveer Signh should be in this movie playing some role. He was born to play Lakhan.

I wonder who will be opposite Sid then. My guess, Kriti.

He is older and fits that role better..lakhan was a brat..some one like ranveer or varun fits the bill better

Don't believe it. Two possibilities. One is that for whatever reason a reporter just made this up, he or she portably had a deadline and nothing to fill the pages so just made this up 😆 Another possibility is that his rumor was started by KJo's camp to shift attention away from Shakun's movie and that casting call leak.

But just for fun, I think it would be an exciting challenge to have someone as calm and shy as Fawad play Lakhan and hyper Ranveer play Ram.

I'm hoping Sid and Alia stay away from a Rohit Shetty film.
