Since yesterday, BizAsia has been reporting that Bollywood hunk Shahid Kapoor is secretly engaged to Delhi based college student Mira Rajput. However, it seems Rajput's friends tell a different story.
The news has not really been confirmed or denied by any sources close to the actor. TOI held a report revealing further information about Rajput after rumours that Kapoor had gotten engaged to a 23-year-old in Delhi were doing the rounds for a while. According to India Today, a friend and classmate of Rajput's has said, "Mira has clearly said that she isn't dating or getting married to Shahid Kapoor, who is elder to her by 13 years. She did say, though, that Shahid is a family friend".
It is thought that Rajput was part of the same religious group that Kapoor and his father Pankaj Kapur are associated to. The friend continued, "Mira is a very private person, who prefers to hang out with a very few friends. She is a rather focused and intelligent girl, who is quite vocal about her opinions".
Well, it certainly seems that reports about the alleged engagement need some clarification either by the actor himself, his family or his team. No doubt the fans and the industry await just that.

Apparently, all the claims regarding Shahid Kapoor marrying Mira Rajput, a student of Lady Shri Ram College for Women are false.
Mira Rajput, a third year student pursuing a degree in English (Honours) from LSR has denied the buzz about her marriage to the Haider hunk.
In fact, while talking to her classmates, the third year student went ahead and rejected the rumours of any impending wedding plans. Though several attempts to reach Ms. Rajput were in vain, a classmate of Ms. Rajput finally revealed, "Mira has clearly said that she isn't dating or getting married to Shahid Kapoor, who is elder to her by 13 years. She did say, though, that Shahid is a family friend."
She further added, "Mira is a very private person, who prefers to hang out with a very few friends. She is a rather focused and intelligent girl, who is quite vocal about her opinions."
An alumna of Vasant Valley School, New Delhi, Mira got the 10th rank in Delhi University's CATE (Common Admission Test in English). She has also interned with the United Nations in the past.
