he appeared to be a lot darker in his older movies such as HDDCS, HSSH, HAHK, MPK, Chal Mere Bhai, Biwi No1, etc than he does now

for why? and how come?

I know his siblings are fairer than him as they appear to have inherited their father's complexion whereas he has gone after his mother and hence escaped the pig look his siblings and dad sport..
but what happened to his skin?
He seems at least a shade or two lighter the past 5/6 years.

Discuss, dissect, why!

I think its just lighting. Cameras have gotten more technical now. Use those movie lights as well. You can play with hues and contrast of videos and pictures.
If lights are shining on you will appear brighter on cameras.
Doesn't mean you bleach.

And I think people analyse way too much over here. Guess what.. skin complexion of a person can actually get darker/lighter over years. Got nothing to do with bleaching. Its just because they're celebs, pretty sure our friends/family members appear to be lighter or darker throughout our lives too but we don't notice/care.

Unless its a drastic change like that of Michael Jackson or maybe Deepika, I don't think we should accuse them of bleaching.

It is the technology and lightening
We will be surprised to see how much better we may look on big screen..the cameras do so much to make you better..90% of bollywood is ugly in real life..all thanks to camera and lightening

I may require some serious guts to see the likes of ajay devgan in real life..

Michael Jackson? Michael Jackson had an actual skin disorder called Vitiligo, which was confirmed by the LA coroner who did his autopsy after his death. So refrain from dragging him into this mess.

That's true actually. My skin tone is a lot lighter than it was as a kid. But do skin tones change once you reach adulthood? Not taking a dig...am genuinely curious.

Nowadays she looks really light compared to her initial years. Look at her event pictures, party pictures! Her color looks same irrespective of camera lights.

It's either make up or skin lightening process.

Same with PC!
