The explanation that NH10 provides for Arjun's behaviour is that he's stung by a snide comment Meera makes about him protecting her. This isn't the kind of daftness we expect from the sensible, calm sort that Arjun is shown to be, but I do know some high-testosterone, low-IQ men who could conceivably behave the way Arjun did.
I think it wasn't only the snide remark by Anushka that made him follow the gang. He was also slapped in front of everyone, including his wife by Darshan's character right after Meera says that she doesn't need the gun because Arjun is there with him. I felt it more got to do with his ego being hurt along with Meera's comment which was a catalyst for his aggressive behavior.
Another glaring loophole in NH10's realism is the absence of country pistols in the film. Pigs will fly before that happens.
This is so true. I was surprised how none of the guys had a pistol. Though the mama/chacha does justify not having guns when he says that a man doesn't kill with a gun but slowly tortures and kills with a rod (something on these lines), it was really hard to believe that none of them were having a gun.
What is wonderful to watch is the unapologetic exacting of revenge by Meera. There's no over-acting.
And I think this is the sole reason why the climax of NH10 is so powerful.Anushka doesn't even overact for a single scene!
This is one of the best movie reviews I have read in the recent times. So well balanced. From which paper is the review, NC?
