You are working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the first time in her comeback film. How has it been so far?

I am having a lot of fun. The best part is that she doesn't carry the baggage of her stardom, and that's required for her role. She is doing it intelligently and delicately. Sometimes, even intelligent actors commit mistakes. For instance, in A Mighty Heart (2007; Irrfan also starred in the film), I feel Angelina Jolie was stronger and more heroic than the role required her to be; the vulnerability of Mariane Pearl (Jolie's character) was missing.

Whats deceiving? Thats what he says. He says Ash's stardom is not overpowering her portrayal which was not the case with Angi.

The great part if you are an Ash fan is that Irrfan looks at working with Ash like working with Angie in terms of their stardom. Obviously Angie is a huge star internationally and much more well known but Ash is a big star and an icon who carries a similar kind of stardom.

Yes, true that. Also he clearly states that Ash isn't letting her stardom overpower her performance. She is doing it delicately and intelligently. Angelina on the other hand went the heroic way and like he states the vulnerability was missing.

Haah..Eagerly waiting for the film. She is gonna kick all those butts for sure!

I don't think he's saying what the title of the thread is, but he called Aish intelligent and I'm guessing fown to earth b/c she doesn't carry all the baggage of a star. Angie is the same way--she's a star but doesn't act like one. You can tell from the way they both raise their children--they keep it normal and they keep them grounded.

I think a lot of critics would agree to what Irfan said about Angie's role in Mighty Heart, but she's still the better actress. I mean her body of work is different and it speaks volume.
