Kareena does get a very high amount paid to her.

Unless she's doing a low budget film, in which case she works out her fees and lowers them significantly

But that aside, this is ridiculous. I remember this being posted on IF a while ago.

And even back then we were all shocked by the fact that not only do men get paid HIGHER...they're paid exponentially higher than the girls.

The reality is when economy and commerce factor become ONLY most important factor in creative then i think this disparity will always be there in hindi movies. Simple business says how much money (can bring viewer to movie hall) a male actor vs. female actor can bring to table in a purely commercial movie.

I think this disparity will grow on the basis of story , weightage and role of both actor and actress in a movie. When the gap is wider wage disparity will be higher and when those factor were narrowed down then wage disparity will also become narrow. Just like in art movies or commercial movies where both hero and heroine have equal weightage and role .
