After her stint with American television in Hawaii Five-0, things are looking up further for Mallika Sherawat. She is all set to extend her innings in the TV circuit in the West. Though she is not sharing any details due to the confidentiality agreement involved, a source close to her vouches for the fact that something big is round the corner."In any case this is the current trend in the West, especially USA. More than movies, it is television which is the in' thing now. After spending quite some time in Los Angeles, exploring various options and studying trends, Mallika is happy to switch over to this new medium," the source informs. Though Mallika would soon be seen in the Hindi flick Dirty Politics, she may find herself back in the States to kick-start her new sojourn.Quiz her if she is missing Bollywood and she says, "I have been having a great time actually. Recently I did a little bit of amateur theater in LA. As a matter of fact I was living the good life in the US. It is extremely important to come out of the cocoon of Bollywood and spend some time in the real life." And doing television was one such thing. "I did Hawaii Five-0 and frankly, I had a great time on TV," says Mallika, "Even otherwise, just look at the kind of TV series that they are coming up with of late. Whether it is House of Cards, Scandal, Homeland - they are all superb," she adds.
So how about the buzz that she has signed something big too. "Well, all I can say for now is that I have made some foray in this direction; there is something new that is happening for me on a TV series. However, let us wait for a while before details start floating in," she smiles and says.By no means is she bidding adieu to the world of Hindi films and Indian television though. "As a matter of fact I am extremely excited about doing TV in India. I feel that today, TV has far more reach than films," she opines, "If there is something absolutely out of the box, I would love to be part of it," says Mallika. Can the interested parties raise hands please?
