Contrary to reports that Madhur Bhandarkar's Madamji has been stalled, the co-producer of the film, Ram Mirchandani said that there was no truth in the news at all. "It's nonsense. Everyone is assuming that the film is stalled because Priyanka (Priyanka Chopra who is playing the protagonist) will be away to the US for about two and a half months for her TV show. But she will be back in April and we will start shooting for the film in May or June. The film will be shot over a 55 day schedule. In fact, we hope to release it by the end of the year or latest early next year," informed Mirchandani.
As for the story being similar to the upcoming Dirty Politics starring Mallika Sherawat, Mirchandani denied any kind of similarity between the two.
"Dirty Politics is reportedly based on the true story of Bhanwari Devi while Madamji on the other hand is a fictional story about an item girl's foray into politics. The situations and environment of both films are completely different," he stated.
