To some extent. But if the award organizers bow down then it's their choice, right? Ultimately its more their fault. The popular category is pointless and doesnt need to be there. We only need best actor, jury.

They can keep start of the year or whatever, but don't need best actor/actress popular.

I personally find that it is just SRK who manipulates the shows so that he, his costars and his movie wins/has a nomination. Salman hosts many shows and never walks away with the best actor or movie. Before this year, Shahid always performed at shows and never even got a nomination. Some stars don't perform and get nominated (I don't mean the big stars) so I don't think all of the shows are biased or rigged.

SRK is just insecure. Salman will always have this tag of being the "box office king" and Aamir will always be known for taking risks and doing something different. SRK just needs the awards to make himself feel better.

Salman only has that tag since 2010. Similarly Aamir aquired that tag only recently.

Till the year 2010, SRK deserved the awards he got based on the fact that his performances were deemed above decent, his films were popular and that the award was usually bestowed to an actor who received both critical and popular approval. He fit all those categories for all the years he got them until 2010. Since then, he hasn't got an actual significant award that counts.

Shahrukh Khan buying awards is not an internet gossip. I'm guessing rumors of it has started doing the rounds of Bollywood as well. 2 or 3 years ago when he and Shahid hosted an award show he made fun of this, and I suspect by mocking it he tried to tell everyone the rumors are not true. 😆 So then the question is why is his own industry saying this about him? But that's for him to reflect upon.

Does he buy them? I don't know. I don't think so. But there seems to be a correlation between him appearing and performing and winning. Does he bring in the crowds? Yes he does no doubt about it. Has him winning as much as he has affected the credibility of awards? Yes it has. But for some of us that happened years ago even when he won some of the major acting awards. And again for some of us Filmfare awards being held at Yash Raj studios a few years ago (I don't know if that's still the case) destroyed their credibility because YRF movies were nominated and this was a huge conflict of interest.

Is SRK solely responsible for the credibility of award shows going down? No. In my opinion there has been a lot of planning and strategizing of making sure certain movies of certain studios or certain filmmakers win awards. SRK happened to be the visual face or representative of this. Hence he gets the bulk of the ridicule and criticism. But to be fair when at 49 he wears a pony tail, comes on stage in a giant toy motorcycle or giant wings and has a hard time deviating from his Rahul or Raj roles then I have a hard time feeling sorry for him or sympathizing with him. But that takes this discussion into psychoanalyzing the ego, personality or persona of SRK.

Its easy to point fingers at one of India's biggest superstar for the loss of credibility for these award shows. But doesn't the fault lie within the organizers and the group that works behind the scenes as well?

Salman doesn't "care" because he could never win an award as his acting isn't good enough

Also I doubt SRK cares about these awards from the little silly award shows, more like they just give it to him to suck up as he performs and is a massive name.

I agree though, they aren't very credible anymore.
