Two years too late for RK?
Ranbir feels that his choices of films have made him lose ground, while his colleagues have covered ground
They stole the lead...

Denials from Anurag Kashyap abound, but word on the B-Town street is that Ranbir Kapoor is unhappy with the way Bombay Velvet has shaped up. The actor, who was poised to be the next big thing post Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani feels he has lost precious time in the last two years after Besharam by Abhinav Kashyap. The actor's last hit was in May, 2013.
After seeing the rushes of his next release, he is seriously wondering if he will be able to regain lost ground. An actor's star status is dictated by his last release and Ranbir feels that actors like Sidharth Malhotra, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor who were nowhere close to him in star power have delivered hit films and done interesting projects, while he has nothing to show for his last two years.
BV, originally due to release in 2014, was then slated for release in May this year. It is learnt that when RK expressed his displeasure with the way the film had shaped up, a reshoot was decided and letters were sent out to the entire cast asking to shoot for 40 days of patchwork. Patchwork for a film normally requires a few days, a week or maximum 10 days. This meant that they were planning a major reshoot, When Ranbir's dad Rishi was called for his son's extra dates, he lost his cool and said, Why don't you take 20 days extra and make a new film?
Moreover, RK's next release is Roy, in which he is playing a cameo. A source close to Ranbir says that he is now looking at Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos with Katrina Kaif (August 28) and Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha with Deepika Padukone, (Christmas Day) to bring him back in the game.
But the industry being what it is, an industrywalla has words of hope for the actor, "Ranbir has nothing to worry about. He is the uncrowned king of Bollywood after the 40-plus brigade. And as they say, a king in exile is still a king. he will reclaim his throne again effortlessly."

Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and the Perils of Being a Hit Heroine

Katrina and Sonakshi's recent choice of roles failed to live upto their credibility
While Katrina is somewhat stranded with her next film three months away, Sonakshi is facing crisis after delivering a string of flops
Bollywood stars certainly thrive on performance pressure but it's an altogether different pressure that actress Katrina Kaif went through this awards season. A coy, half-hearted attempt to groove to Chikni Chameli at the recent Umang Police Show in Mumbai hardly counts. So where does this leave Katrina at the moment? Well, somewhat stranded with her next release Phantom over three months away. It's a rocky professional territory for an actor who's still waiting for her next lifetime role to materialise. It seems Katrina is trying to cut the criticism to the chase as well. She recently said she's never claimed to be the best actor in Bollywood.
But while Katrina may be feeling like a shadow of herself on the professional front, she has at least got a co-star who knows exactly how that feels. Actor Saif Ali Khan has little more than a ghost of a chance to redeem himself after back to back disasters Bullett Raja, Humshakals and Happy Ending, and to add to it, Kareena Kapoor's not exactly putting the better into half. Yes, Kareena may have Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Udta Punjab on hand but both are hardly Kareena-centric projects.
She may have claimed her unlucky streak was over with Singham 2 but clearly it was just beginning for her co-star Ajay Devgn. We're still wondering why Action Jackson was ever put into action. Ajay Devgn seems determined to sell himself short and we can't quite figure out why the powerhouse performer behind Omkara and Gangaajal insists on sticking to the brainless boulevard, which leads to a one horse town called oblivion. After all, it is not like Ajay has to keep churning out one brainless entertainer after another to support his lavish lifestyle.
Sonakshi Sinha, on the other hand, has always been unapologetic about catering to the so called mass appeal. However, 'mass' can easily spell 'mess' and that's exactly what Sonakshi seems to have found herself in with Action Jackson, Lingaa and Tevar, all bombing at the box office.
So, perhaps, it's time for all these actors, none of whom are without their attributes, to set their professional radars straight and head away from what is a sure path to anonymity and not the variety which the stars so carefully pretend to cultivate.
