Just like empty vessels make the most noise, people who are deeply affected by words from others on the internet use the greatest number of ROFL emoticons to show they are calm and collected. It's a classic face saving strategy, albeit a dumb one. If they were indeed unaffected and laughing, they wouldn't hold grudges against members about arguments that happened on other threads, or drag matters from one forum to another nor would they dedicate entire chit chat threads to bitching about forum members. ROFLing is a dumb move. If you notice, it is most used by people who are constantly engaged in verbal altercations with one member or another. Unfortunately though, it doesn't work to their advantage at all. 😆
