Oh according to BH, Dhoom 3 crossed 200cr in 9 days because they included all languages in their collections. If they only included HINDI version, then it took 10 days. It all makes sense now😆

PK Closes 200 Cr Nett On 8 Days

2014 proved to be a bad year at box office for Hindi film industry and after disastrous November and half of December, Aamir Khan starrer ''PK'' was the only hope for survival for exhibitors. But film scored big week and now film is on the way to become highest grosser in history of Bollywood.

Film has collected 182.58 cr nett in week one which was outstanding number and this is 2nd highest week one number after ''Dhoom 3''. Film scored big numbers in Mumbai and that is why despite low Friday film managed to cross all other releases.

Film started yesterday on similar note but there was drop in Rajasthan, Gujarat and NCR. This was normal 2nd Friday trend but film never grew in single screens and mass areas. There was drop in UP, Gujarat and Bihar. Film collected 85 lakhs nett in Rajasthan and there was similar trend in other territories.

Film collected 14.44 cr nett on day eight which was super number and now film is set for first ever 50 cr nett 2nd weekend in Bollywood. Film jumped again on 2nd Saturday and collected 17.40 cr nett which was growth of 25%.

Film has collected 214 cr nett plus in 9 days and it will cross 235 cr nett today. Film has such a solid trend and empty period that now 290-300 cr nett looks almost certain.

Film also collected 79 cr in week one in overseas and it seems that film will cross 100 cr there too by the end of 2nd weekend as film will get boost from Christmas holidays.

Dhoom 3 took 10 days to cross 200 crores and here we have PK that scores in a little over 8 days. The trending for this film is simply amazing, seeing that it also had a much lesser opening day.

Trade experts state that, like all other Rajkumar Hirani films, his recent release, PK seems to be enjoying a very high repeat index. Infact, this time around it is the highest ever for any film in Hindi cinema. The Aamir Khan starrer is a light hearted entertainer which can be watched with the entire family. Also, the film is written in a way that the viewer, in the middle of all the jokes and laughs does not even realize that the film had a takeaway; a social message.

Clearly due to these reasons and a very strong word of mouth, the repeat viewing of the film is very high. The film released on 19th December, not just opened to a fantastic number at the box office, but also showed phenomenal growth with each passing day.

We saw the highest rate of growth in this film. The film has even broken the record and collected the highest amount in the first week (182.58 cr) of its release which only reiterates the fact that a major chunk of the audience is going to the theaters to watch the film more than once.

We expect PK to go ahead and become the most successful film ever..."

PK has now entered the 200 crore club after completing its 9 successful days at the Domestic Box Office. The film collected 17 crores approx on its 2nd Saturday and now stands with a total collection of approximately 214 crores nett at the domestic box office.

The film has held up well over the second weekend too. The Aamir Khan film has been performing extremely well since its opening. This is Aamir's third film to enter the 200 crore club. With excellent responses in the urban circuit, the film is going strong thanks to the Christmas vacations.

PK has now beaten Ek Tha Tiger, 3 Idiots, Happy New Years Lifetime collections and thus becomes 5th Highest Grosser of All Time. Looking at the current pace, this Rajkumar Hirani directorial will easily beat Chennai Express and Kicks lifetime business soon.

So far PK has earned 215cr and that 300cr mark gets closer and closer with each passing day. Just 85cr more. Let's do this🥳
