I see no similarity.

It looks more along the lines of K-pax, Starman if you listen to the songs and the rumors that are going around.

I agree with your second post . He is an alien who came to this planet in search of something. This seems to be the most matching up thing so far from songs/promos.
There are few other rumors about Aamir being an astronaut or playing both God & Alien which is a good thing for the film as ppl arent totally sure about the plot.

Well according to the rumours, Aamir is an alien who questions the existence of God and aspects of religion. We know Anushka is a reporter who becomes his friend and the film is told from her perspective..

I do hope Anushka and Aamir both end up being the aliens though because she looks like one too😆
