AWWW. No wonder they are one of the best onscreen couples cinema has ever produced <3 You can see how well they know each other and how much they trust each other which makes that bond all the more special translating to such wonderful chemistry onscreen as well as defining the strong friendship they have offscreen <3 It is no wonder then that we ship these two even now and we always will ❤️Originally posted by: rogerrocks
OMG these two are LOVE..They still look so gorgeous together..They still have so much chemistry..They still are a riot & they still give me those shipper feels ❤️ Lovely lovely interview..They were so adorable together..That Palat imitation, Kajol's laughter, SRK imitating Yash Chopra & Adi, Pam Chopra singing tujhe dekha toh ye jaana sanam , the final hug & kiss..It was perfection <3 Best onscreen couple in the history of Bollywood hands down..No one comes close 😳😆

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Movie Poster
Rating: 4/5 Stars (Four stars)
Star Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher
Director: Aditya Chopra
What's Good: Well, hands down it is one of cutest Bollywood romantic tales. If your heart does not melt watching the Raj-Simran love saga, you may want to check up what's missing in that left side where your heart should be. A perfect happily ever after with the right amount of drama!
What's Bad: Don't pelt stones at me but the film could have been wrapped up a little under 3 hours.
Loo break: I bet you can wait!
Watch or Not?: This is a must-watch for all Bollywood freaks and if you are a fan of love stories, I am sure you hold records of watching this film over a 100 times already. With it completing 1000 weeks this year, may be you would want to have a refreshed viewing in Maratha Mandir.

London based Raj and Simran are happily leading their normal lives but a trip to Europe lands them into a surprise meeting with each other only to turn into love. While Simran's father has fixed her marriage with his childhood friend's son, Simran falling in love with someone else is not acceptable.
As Simran's family rushes to India to get her married, will Raj sacrifice his love or will he fight for it and rush to India?
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in a still from movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'
What could have possibly gone wrong with this film? Being a 90s release, since India was blessed with a new economic model of LPG (Liberalization, Privatization, Globalization) the economy had opened up and so spending on entertainment was quite a thing! As predictable as it can be, DDLJ had a typical storyline with a love story that runs into problems due to family acceptance. There, I said it in a line, but what exactly made this movie special was that it hit the right notes with its script. Penned beautifully, almost each dialogue had recall value and created history with it.
Even today, 19 years later, there is a surreal pleasure in saying, Bade Bade Deshon Mein Aisi Chhoti Chhoti Baatein Hoti Hi Rehti Hai". Javed Siddiqui deserves a special mention for creating wonders through his quirky dialogues (especially for Raj's character). While the meaning of love stories on celluloid may have changed today as more and more people are opting for realistic cinema, there are no second thoughts that when it comes to a perfect blend of comedy, action and romance, this one would still be the winner for the confluence of all great things rolled into one film.
Shah Rukh Khan is a global star today and while all his films rattle the box office, no other character of his has become as popular and it would be safe to say that through this film he gave the name Raj' a whole new meaning. The quintessential hero, Shah Rukh performed his best as he fit perfectly into the naughty yet lovable character. He is known today the King Of Romance' and the credit goes to DDLJ for it.
Kajol made Simran's simplistic character extremely charming through her performance. With this film, Kajol truly showed her acting mettle. She made this girl-next-door character unforgettable.
Playing the perfect Ladki Ka Baap', Amrish Puri as Baldev is simply fantastic. You feel the chills just hearing his voice and as the anger starts to show, I bet you get the goosebumps too.
Anupam Kher on the other hand plays the most lovable character in the film of Raj's father. He is emotional, playful and comic and makes your heart melt with his energy.
Aditya Chopra gives his best shot with DDLJ and no one can beat this debut direction. Each frame makes sure you are watching a Yashraj film that has sarson ke khet' and of course a song in the snow-clad mountains of a foreign country which obviously have their own flavor. He makes sure that just like his dad, legendary Yash Chopra, he too can weave a simple love story and make it so epic. The camera work is brilliant and with a winning content in hand, the story hooks you all in. Its as if the makers knew how to make impressionable content and thus by serving us with legendary scenes such as the train sequence' there is very little about this film that you can forget. The way that the film was presented, in its own way it dealt with the whole Love marriage Vs Arrange marriage' problem that India has been contemplating about even today. The strong dialogue of Simran's mom Ek Ladki Ko Kadam Kadam Pe Qurbaani Deni Padti Hai' is relevant even today and it it is precisely these concepts in the film that found immense connect with the audiences. Musically too, the film had a brilliant album pulled off by Jatin-Lalit and almost all songs have been chartbusters.
Off late, we maybe used to watching films that wrap up in 2 hours or so but this one is a tad bit longer. Even though DDLJ stretches over 3 hours with a completely clichd story, it surprisingly does not give you a feeling of being tied to the chair in a never ending tale. That itself is a brownie point for the film as at no point does it become a drag.
This is one film that will make you laugh, blush, cry and bring you out of the theaters smiling. Again, it is a must-watch for one and all and the best part is, this one is a complete family entertainer. You may not be the one to believe in true love but there is no harm to watch it on celluloid. For me, this film certainly holds a special place and as lovesick as I can be, I would surely hope there are Raj-Simran' love stories out there, everywhere. I am going with a 4/5 for this perfect fairytale Bollywood love story.
