"Baby" finished its two weeks theatrical run
and became the first hit film of 2015. Positive
reviews helped the film to maintain a strong
hold at the ticket window even in its second
week. Due to this the film managed to earn
Rs 84 crore in two weeks.
"#Baby is rock-steady [Wk 2] Fri 2.85 cr, Sat
3.99 cr, Sun 5.81 cr, Mon 2.20 cr, Tue 1.92 cr,
Wed 1.94 cr, Thu 1.87 cr. Total: 84.40 cr,"
trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"Baby" is one of the commercially successful
films of 2015 along with "Khamoshiyan". Both
the films managed to earn more than the
production costs.
"Khamoshiyan" starring Ali Fazal, Sapna
Pabbi and Gurmeet Choudhary is a horror
thriller. The film earned its budget amount
within seven days of its release.
Made on a budget of Rs 11 crore,
"Khamoshiyan" earned Rs 11 crore from its
domestic run in first week and Rs 7.5 crore
from satellite and music rights.
"#Khamoshiyan Fri 1.92 cr, Sat 2.21 cr, Sun
2.54 cr, Mon 1.33 cr, Tue 1.27 cr, Wed 1.10
cr, Thu 93 lacs. Total: 11.30 cr. India biz,"
Adarsh tweeted.
Like most of the Bhatt productions,
"Khamoshiyan" too turned out to be a
profitable venture. However, with new film
"Shamitabh" releasing this week it remains to
be seen whether "Khamoshiyan" will survive
in its second week or just vanish from
theaters.
