Stardom make people attract to a movie in first few days.

After that it works only if and if people like the movie or if they don't mind watching it still knowing its not that good.

Many people look for entertainment, some like different kind of movies. Trailer gives the base picture of a film , so easily people can make a choice.

Then there are small number of people who hate everything, they don't add in to anything.

I dont agree. if that was the case then why jai ho, bang bang, raone were not blockbusters? Salman SRK Hrithik are big stars. Their star power is huge but there was a reason why jai ho and raone were not BBS.

People here call hny ce d3 bodyguard crap but outside world tells something else. my point is whats bad for me and you might not be bad for others.

I agree with your last point.

But Jai Ho did good business even if it didn't break Salman's previous movie records.

And the case with Bang Bang, it did better business at the boxoffice than Haider but who will remember Bang Bang in years to come ? And a movie like Haider will be remembered forever.

coz ppl have gone dumb.. had these movie been released beginning of 2000 or 90s it would have been a big flop .. remember govinda movies..

Star power helps a lot. And yes if you someone else except salman in jai ho, the movie would had been flop but my point is only star power can't make a movie bb or ATBB.

I honestly don't know. Personally I hated Kick too and didn't understand why it made so much money. I take Jai Ho over Kick. But I guess most like films that are full on glam and entertainment with less substance. Film releasing on holidays also helps. Plus Khans are hugely popular. Was D3 released on a holiday too? Can't understand how that was a huge hit either.

For me Singham Returns over Kick, D3 and HNY and BB. And no am not saying that because I like Kareena. I genuinely enjoyed SR.

For me I rather have my favorite be part of a good film than a trashy blockbuster. A good film that does well that is lol..like SR or like Dabangg. There's no point in having a good film that flops.

It's great that a film does huge business..but if the fans can't re-watch the film over and over again When it comes out on DVD. What's the point esp if the actors have mediocre roles? These films would be forgotten by tomorrow!

I disliked dhoom 3 but i know many other people loved it. There is exact no definition of good and bad movies. its depends on your taste. Some people like art off beat movies, some people like masala movies and some people like romantic movies.

A commercial movie is not always bad. examples: Dabbang, ETT, MHN, Ghajini ect.

Farah khan is not horrible director. Mhn was mind blowing and om shanti om was a decent watch. i loved happy new year promos and i think i will like the movie

hny had too many idiotic scenes ; tht idiot sonu sood was closing the valve to open water, comeon.
What was the need for tht faltoo patriotism scens and the ending was so long. Deepika had no role yet she was much better thn tht idiot sonu sood and boman. And jackie shroff is so easily conned; wht a lame joke.
