The actor's away in New York and is trying to make it for the final day of Durga Puja celebrations at home.
The Mukherji household is brimming with excitement. This is the 59th year of Durga Puja celebrations at Rani Mukherji's home and hence all the more special.
"We've been organising this puja unfailingly both in Mumbai and Bengal," says Krishna Mukherji, Rani's mother. The only hitch this time is that Rani will be away in New York for Yash Raj's film 'Tara Rum Pum'.
"Last year, she was busy shooting but she managed to make it on the last day. She told me that she's trying to adjust this time, but it appears difficult."
Incidentally, Rani has often missed pujas at home, ever since she took up acting. "She has missed the puja about four times, and mostly because of her shootings. She once joked to me that whenever she misses puja, her films for which she'd been shooting during the festival (like 'Chalte Chalte', 'Saathiya' and 'Hum Tum') have turned out to be hits. But frankly, god has been really kind to us," says Krishna.
