Plus Immy hardly let's his personal rishte influence his casting..In the Highway series, Alia was talking about how the crew was in sync and that's why it worked so well..RK was hosting the show and a few glances were exchanged! Immy quickly added that even if that's not the case everyone should realize that the end product should be good or something(I think it was coz RK was lobbying for Alia in Tamasha and Immy wanted to shut him up)

ETA: I might be biased, but I believe Imtiaz when he says decisions about casting have to be honest😳

Kapoor's performance in yet another Bhardhwaj directorial titled Kaminey' (2009)where he played a double role was also very much appreciated. Talking about taking on different roles, the actor went onto say, ""I have always believed that good content will always find an audience. As an actor you have to take risks and do a film like Haider and when it works, you feel cool about it."
Haider' also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon and Irrfan Khan.

Still he went ahead & cast Nargis in Rockstar 😆 I don know what prompted him to cast her in the film till date 😆 But you may be right..He stuck to Deepika for LAK despite all the aggressive lobbying by Kareena 😆

Today he calls Rockstar a defective movie-says he'd have changed many things..but he still sticks to his decision of casting Nargis(when he cast her his AD had said that he's making a mistake but he stuck to it)..I don't really care for her in the movie-She didn't ruin the movie for me like Katrina ruined Rajneeti! I still find it hard to digest he even selected her in the first place 😆 Nargis herself confessed that she was clueless about the whole thing & had no idea what she was doing 😆 So i don get why he chose her when he had a lot of other options 😆 If he genuinely believed in her acting talent & thought she'l nail the role, then i dunno what to say 😆 Tbh, Rockstar was a film which was flawed & i personally found it annoying on a lot of levels but i do think the film would have been way better if Heer was played by a good actress..It was supposed to be a passionate love story ( or extramarital affair or whatever 😆) so half the battle is lost when you cast a bad actress..So i don know what prompted him to cast her..Am sure she had to audition and all..So i don know what convinced him in the first place that she'l suit the role 😆 Its good he doesn't regret his decision though..

I loved Biru in Rockstar..Its his best performance along with Barfi..So so intense <3 And i heart Dichotomy of Fame..Its one of ARR's best albums ..But i hated the film..It was pretentious & annoying IMO 😆 But you know what? I always felt Kareena would have nailed Heer..If only the two weren't related 😆
