Why Akshay Kumar is underrated actor?

I'm a big fan of Akshay since I saw him 1^st time onscreen. Honestly I didn't like some of his recent movies but that doesn't changed the fact he is a very good actor and a superstar. His comedy timing is impeccable. He does action in style (may be 2^nd only to Hrithik Roshan in Bollywood) and above all he is the one of the most if not the best good looking actor here. He neither does oiling nor belongs to any big production house group. He is truly a self-made man and grossly underrated. He was great in so many movies like hera pheri, khiladi, bhulbhulayia, holiday etc. Even the B, C grade films which he has done is only watchable because of his great screen presence. Anyway it doesn't matter whether he is ignored in award functions because there're many other great actors who are ignored as well and everyone knows awards can be bought.

Agreed. Comedy is one of the most difficult genres for an actor, I mean there are so many stars who succeed at intense or romantic roles.. but only a few succeed at comedy. Akshay is very versatile so he is one of those who can do all of it.

Comedy itself is a very neglected genre in Bollywood, most will watch comedy movies and enjoy them.. but rarely acknowledge the actors/actresses. For example Govinda. The man was a big part of my filmy childhood. Tbh, more than DDLJ/Khan or even Kumar movies.. I grew up dancing to Govinda's songs and watching his films. Its sad how nowadays he doesn't receive the appreciation he should.
