Parineeti (Chopra) recently told us that you're probably too busy to find a man. Is that true?
I'm glad she thinks that (laughs). There are some things younger siblings should not know about the older ones. I'm the oldest in the family (among the sisters) and I bully all my sisters, and my brother tremendously. My two elder brothers and I, we are like royalty at home. As for what Tisha (Parineeti's nickname) has said, no, I'm not too busy to have a love life. I'm just very private about it. Fans know about everything else in my life. There's something I should keep to myself.

When will you speak about it?
When it becomes concrete, I'll talk about it from the rooftops. Not until there's a ring on my finger.

Then is it safe to say you're single?
I've never said I'm single. Everybody keeps saying I'm single. I've never ever said that. I think you're single till you get married, so in that sense, yes, I am.

Recently, inappropriate pictures of Deepika (Padukone) were put up on the Internet by a national daily. What's your take on media crossing the line?
I've said that for many years that when people talk about objectification as well as exploitation of women, look at photographers taking photos of girls in dresses as soon as they sit down; (they) try to show their underwear...so many of my friends have had it happen to them, I've had it happen to me, where they deliberately place themselves like that. But it's also not their fault because they are briefed to take pictures like that.

Photographers hardly make any money and the one photo they sell is the one running their home, so they want to get you the most sensational photos. You can't kick the messenger. It's a much bigger issue here. It's not even the media, honestly. It's the way people look at women. It's the way men look at women; the way the country looks at women. The debate is much bigger, according to me. I don't think there's anything wrong in celebrating a woman's beauty, when she wants to. We come from the land of Kamasutra; it's a celebration, whether it's of sexuality or yourself, but not without consent. Paparazzi culture is horrible, globally.

Is it true that you are now doing a biopic on Kiran Bedi?
Ohho! I have been offered a bunch of films right now. I've just finished Zoya's (Akhtar, director) movie and I'm starting two big ones next month. Between Sanjay sir's (Sanjay Leela Bhansali, filmmaker) movie and my own production, it's going to be fully stressful. I've never produced before, and I'm involved with that now. I anyway can't start anything until next year. Right now, I'm just listening to some stuff. Some interesting stuff has come my way, but I can't say much until I confirm it.

Apparently, you've been offered a big fee for this film ...
I'm priceless, man, how are you talking about remuneration? (laughs). I've never worked for money, but I'm thankful for it because I work damn hard. I never say yes or no to a movie because I'm getting paid that much more or less. But, I always consider my work really holy and along with that if I get a bonus cheque, why not? The boys get paid so much, why shouldn't the girls?

You just won the first award for the biopic you did on boxer Mary Kom. How does it feel?
Great! I was overwhelmed. I'm always overwhelmed these days ... I don't know what's happening to me.
