There was action, comedy, romance, drama too. That's why it's called a masala movie.

As per the Wiki definition, it fits.

Masala films of Indian cinema are those that mix genres in one work. Typically these films freely mix action, comedy, romance, and drama or melodrama.[1] They tend to be musicals that include songs filmed in picturesque locations. The genre is named after the masala, a mixture of spices in Indian cuisine.[2] According to The Hindu, masala is the most popular genre of Indian cinema.[3]

Khakee isn't a masala movie.

These writers need to learn how to tag movies appropriately.

It indeed is.

Unfortunately the misconception in Bollywood is that anything that is mindless = masala. When in fact a film can be a masala film, with intelligence.

Btw, the writer is a National award winner and the most prolific film critic in India. Yes, we I-Fians will teach him about cinema.

I loved Khakee! Everyone acted well and It's one of Aishwaryas most underrated performances. I literally thought she was a flowerpot until her character changes!

The only weak factor in the movie was the underdeveloped love angle between Akshay and Ash

LOL 😆...okay if u want to go as per def. then this movie strongly comes only under action/thriller in its genre, its not in anyway a mixture of romantic comedy even to a certain percent. Therefore like Deathstroke and KareenaFanatic said it can't be categorized as a masala flick in the first place..

That's the standard definition. Why don't you give your definition with some examples?
