Finally Arjun K signed Ram Lakhan for Lakhan Role; Varun may play Ram

When it emerged that Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar were looking at remaking the cult classic that is Ram Lakhan' (1989), speculation was immediately on who would play the roles essayed by Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in the original. Whilst Ranbir Kapoor's name was associated to Lakhan's role in media reports, it seems the makers have actually finalised another Kapoor for the part; Arjun Kapoor.
It seems Arjun has signed on the dotted line to play Lakhan and it seems he is the perfect fit because his resemblance to uncle Anil who was in the 1989 film will no doubt be great for the audiences to be taken back to the memorable classic. Johar has expressed that he would like to bring Varun Dhawan in to star with Arjun put it seems the search for an actor to play Ram is still ongoing.
Arjun is currently busy with the upcoming Finding Fanny' in which he stars with Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Kapur, Dimple Kapadia and Naseeruddin Shah.

Where is the official statement? It's just Arjun's PR. Maybe this will be true but he doesn't look like Lakhan from any angle. He has totally opposite personality. And if he gets Lakhan's part,who will play Ram?Varun! That's a joke. Only RK will suit that part or they should go for 40+ brigade.

Lakhan is a role with comic sense . Arjun has a nerdy face with no comic sense.

Ranveer Singh or Varun Dhawan as Lakhan would be good but Varun looks very childish, so Ranveer Singh would be perfect.

I love arjun bt him as lakhan no ways. His look doesn't fit the role he would be better doing Ram's role. And lol is this article for serious varun playing Ram from which angle does Varun look like he can play the big brother to any of the current young generation male actors? He looks smaller than all of them. Quite frankly. I watched abit of ram lakhan the othr day its quite pathetic bt when I saw hw anil did the role I knew the only person who could recreate and had the same sort of cuteness and innocence was Varun. If they are gona get thses 2 guys to be in the movie ram- arjun and VD for lakhan. Bt I wnt mind ranveer being Ram I thinkj he would be awesome.
