The film doing well is good for Rani but only in her generation of actresses. Not a back in the game deal like heydays. Surprised to see Mardaani get good reviews from all quarters.

yeah I didn't mean back in the game as in along with new generation. I meant, she can carve a niche for herself and can possibly win Best Actress, or at least be a good contender.

I'm not surprised at all, the film does look brilliant, not OTT like gulab gang, Bobbby Jasoos etc. Rani appears to be excellent in it.

Actresses like Rani,Vidya have created their own league.. I don't think we should compare them with the new girls who seem more interested in clothes, adds and playing flowerpots in big budget movies...and beinh in the news 24/7

Rani was always know for her acting...and that's exactly what she's giving us.. Talaash NOKJ and now Mardaani...

I'd hate to see her go the way Tabu or Manisha or Urmila have disappeared. I hope it does well enough for directors to at least consider her for such character based roles.

Best Actress isnt possible. Even Sridevi didnt get it for EV. If PC is good and MK works she will get it or else it will be Alia. I think only relief is that since the movie didnt tank there are no "Is Rani over?" or "Should Rani stick to making babies?" threads on the forum. 😆
