Would be in same league as khans... Unfortunetly too many movies have decresed his stardom .

I'm not sure some of his last few films would have done well even if they released on those festival or favorable release dates. I think it's just been a long time since he's had any film that appealed to lots of folks...a la Welcome/ Namaste London.

Holiday was a good product with one of the best release dates of the year but failed to create any buzz. 😕

That being said, I see Akki easily moving onto supporting roles/ character roles and having a good second innings, unlike his contemporaries.

Too late now.

Akshay has not been able to build that trust in audience despite his popularity.

He should have learnt from reinvention of Salman and Aamir but he didn't.

I think he should limit films to 2 per year. More films just take away exclusivity.

Hrithik does too less films and akshay does too many and it not gonna change anytime soon

See the thing is he prefers quantity over quality. If he does less movies per year people will actually start missing him and they will go to see his movies.

You're going a little too far in time.

The game has changed in the last 3 years. Now its all about the first week. Back then films still had smaller releases so the holiday advantage was nowhere near where it is today. Even the Khan's had many failures on holidays then. But now its almost close to impossible.

@atominis I don't think its too late. Salman was going through his worst phase when he decided to cut down and concentrate on one big film a year and look how his fortunes changed. Akki is still doing well, he could very well make the same impact that Salman made with a minor change.

If Akshay released a big movie on Eid/Diwali/Christmas it would be a blockbuster.

And that goes for any of the top stars (SRK, Sallu, Aamir, Ajay, Ranbir, Hrithik)

Salman atleast bounced back earlier. Akshay is younger but still he is late given he is clubbed with Khan generation. I feel he should have made the most of 2007 phase.

Ideally I would like him to do 2 films a year, say, one like OMG and one like Rowdy Rathore.

Things can improve for him certainly but I doubt if he can get a good high like Salman did.

I honestly see him moving onto supporting roles/ character roles & having a good second innings. He just genuinely seems to enjoy working and keeping busy.
