Singham Returns Monday Collections and Tuesday Update

Singham Returns is all set to cross the 100 crore mark today, as the film has held up well on its first all-india working weekday at the box office. Monday was a holiday in some parts of the country, but most offices and schools were open. Yet, the film managed to collect Rs 14.78 crore at the box office.

On Tuesday, the film is on course to collect around 10-10.5 crore net (very early estimate), as most centres have witnessed drops in the range of 15-20% today. A few circuits like Mysore, Andhra/Nizam, Bengal have shown bigger drops.

Singham Returns should collect around 115 crore in its first week, which is a fantastic total for a film Ajay Devgn. It would be his highest grosser to date (ahead of Golmaal 3) in less than a week.

After a record-breaking opening day, there were expectations of Singham Returns crossing the 200 crore mark. But the trends, both during the weekend and Monday, suggests that the film should finish somewhere between the 160-165 crore mark - which is about the same as the first week business of Salman Khan's Kick.

Entertainment and Kick are still going steady on the lower side. Rani Mukerji's Mardaani, which releases this weekend, is likely to take a below-average start and would depend on word-of-mouth publicity. Singham Returns will continue to be the first choice this weekend too, until the release of Emraan Hashmi's Raja Natwarlal on August 29th.

Singham Returns Tuesday (5th Day) Collection Trends, Holds well.

Singham Returns has hold well on Tuesday (5th Day) in theaters. Tuesday can be said as first normal working weekday for the film as Monday was Semi Holiday in places. Film has showed less than 50% drop from Monday which is fantastic.

Singham Returns started Tuesday on slow note with average opening of about 20-25% in Morning Shows. After that film showed decent growth in Noon-Afternoon shows and registered occupancy in the range of 25-30%. Film then further picked up from Evening onward and right now registering occupancy in the region of 35-40% which is good.

Film has shown first significant drop from previous days, but that is mainly due to normal working weekday. Despite that film should collect well on day 5. Singham Returns has collected around 92 crore nett in first 4 days and looks like film will touch 100 crore nett by the end of today.

Though it is too early to make any prediction for the day, but looking at reports film should collect around 8-9 crore nett range. Major single screen report is still awaited for the day. If that is good and if night shows perform well then there is a chance that film might again touch double digit which will be just fantastic.

Collection Breakup -

Friday - 32 crore nett.
Saturday - 21 crore nett.

Sunday - 24.5 crore nett.

Monday - 14.75 crore nett.

Tuesday (expected) - 8-9 crore nett.

Total - 100-101 crore nett (Expected Approx)

Ajay Devgn shines at the box office again with his latest release Singham Returns which is trotting towards the 100 crore club.

The film by director Rohit Shetty is most likely to enter the 100 crore club on Tuesday, its fifth day after release. The film raked in a whopping Rs. 77.69 crore in its opening weekend, making it the best opening film ever for Ajay Devgn. Singham Returns has minted the second highest opening weekend collection for the year 2014. The only film ahead of it this year is Salman Khan's Kick.

Monday is crucial for any film. The weekend usually brings in footfalls due to publicity or the star power, but Monday business is a good indicator of how a film would fare in the long run.

Singham Returns passed this Monday test with flying colours by raking in Rs. 14.78 crore net at the Indian box office. Let's also not forget that Monday was a gazetted holiday in many states on the account of Janmashtmi.

Toting up the numbers gives us the first four-day collection of Singham Returns at Rs. 92.47 crore net. Which means that as you read this, the film is probably crossing the 100 crore milestone already on its fifth day.

By the way, Salman Khan's Kick also entered the 100 crore club on its fifth day. The 2011 release Singham, in comparison, made it to the club in 50 days.

Meanwhile, Kick has notched a collection of Rs. 230 crore net so far.

The coming Friday would see the release of Mardaani and Mad About Dance.

Singham Return Is Biggest Overseas Opener For Ajay Devgn

Singham Returns did fair business in Overseas though was the biggest opener for Ajay Devgn with collections of a little under $2.50 mullion. His previous best were Raajneeti at $2.25 million and Golmaal 3 at $2 million.

The film fared well in The Gulf grossing around $600,000 while Nepal had the fifth biggest opening ever with business of around $100,000. the western markets did not do that well as US/Canada saw business of around $650,000 while United Kingdom grossed 150,000

In terms of 2014 it was the fourth biggest opening of the year after Kick, Jai Ho and 2 States beating likes of Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, Humshakals and Gunday.

Singham Returns did well on Monday as it collected around 13 crore nett. It was a semi holiday at places and the film held up better in those places. The film did have a noticeable drop in places like West Bengal and Mysore. Below are the daily approx figures for the first four days in week one.

Singham returns has grossed around 87.50 crore nett in four days and should go close to the 110 crore nett mark for the first week making it the eight film to go over 100 crore nett in one week..
